Press ReleasesLiving the Dream: Singaporean Comes Full Circle in Love and Business (April 18th, 2007) Helena, AL- Rima McDonald knows how blessed she is. "I'm living the dream-- a beautiful family, a loving husband, a nice home, and my own business," said McDonald. Her journey began while managing her family's business in Singapore; she met a vacationing American soldier. After a few years of friendship, romance blossomed and the two married. After resettling in America, McDonald began looking around for something to do. She comes from a long line of entrepreneurs so she was determined to strike out on her own. She began as many entrepreneurs do when establishing a business. She soon realized, however, that there were so many ways to conduct business-including not even having a physical office! She discovered that technology plays a huge part of the success of many American businesses. She began researching how businesses communicate, market, and function in both the virtual and real worlds. McDonald explains, "I found that companies CAN do business with each other as long as they set up the infrastructure for communication. The Internet and global telecommunication networks are part of this infrastructure." Her hard work has paid off and she has come full circle in her journey. McDonald is taking her Internet business, Virtual Receptionists, global by expanding into Singapore. "I want to help my fellow Singaporean business colleagues establish an American presence in a cost effective and efficient manner. I had to learn a lot of things the hard way when I was establishing my business. I can save them the difficulties I had by introducing business owners to the networking and technological resources available," said McDonald. McDonald plans on educating Singapore business owners about the ways in which they can connect and communicate with American clients. McDonald has also assembled a panel of experts to host a web conference on May 19 to let foreign businesses know how to use telecommunications, networking, and virtual marketing to increase market share. Two of the topics to be presented include how to acquire funds to assist with business expansion, and how to overcome challenges related to global expansion. McDonald is also looking for American business people who want to connect with these foreign businesses. About Virtual Receptionists Singapore: Download PDF Version of this Press Release |
